FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering, in particular to methods of operating worm gears using a lubricating composition. Method of running the worm gears is to carry it out in an oil bath with the addition of a fine powder additive to the oil. Running- in is carried out with a periodically rising torque on the driven shaft of the reducer, equal to 10 Nm, in the step-by-step mode of time 15 minutes to the total load determined by the steady-state equilibrium process of boundary friction, which is characterized by a constant minimum coefficient of sliding friction or a stable value of transmission efficiency, when using a finely dispersed abrasive powder additive in the form of colloidal graphite with artificial serpentine deposited on its surface, obtained by sol-gel technology with a metal-plating additive of oil-soluble metal salts.
EFFECT: increase in the speed and quality of running in of worm gears is provided when using the adaptive properties of the complex lubricant composition (CLC) in the subsequent period of the steady-state equilibrium regime with improved tribotechnical indicators.
