FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a fluoropolymer coating composition and to an article having a surface with a low coefficient of friction. Said fluoropolymer composition comprises fluorinated homopolymer particles dispersed in water, fluorinated copolymer particles dispersed in water, non-fluorinated polymer particles dispersed in water, and at least one aziridine compound comprising at least two aziridine groups. Said fluorinated homopolymer particles contain polytetrafluoroethylene. Fluorinated copolymer particles contain a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene and vinylidene fluoride. Non-fluorinated polymer particles may be a polyurethane latex material or an acrylic latex material. Article having a low friction surface comprises a substrate and a thin coating layer with a low coefficient of friction located on the surface of the substrate.

EFFECT: curing of the fluoropolymer composition produces strong and durable coatings with a low coefficient of friction which are capable of withstanding repeated abrasive wear without deterioration of the coating properties associated with a low friction coefficient.
