FIELD: teaching.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to special equipment intended for teaching technical subjects to students of universities and colleges. Reverse osmosis and chemical desalination laboratory unit comprises a table with horizontal and vertical mounting surfaces, on which feed pump 1 with a water-pressure main, storage tank 5, mechanical filter 2, connecting pipes, sampling valves and shut-off valves are located. Unit also comprises reverse osmosis filter 4, H-cation exchanger 6, OH-anion exchanger 7 and automatic measuring unit 8. By using four-way flow switch 3, a flow is switched to study the reverse osmosis method and two-stage desalination method separately or together. Quality of treated water is controlled by measuring the electrical conductivity with the subsequent calculation of pH and concentrations of ionic impurities based on NaCl.
EFFECT: creation of a simple and demonstrative stand unit for studying and conducting researches of processes that take place during the processing of water by chemical desalination methods.
