FIELD: control; regulation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of controlling portable devices, such as input devices moved by a user, specifically to controlling a portable device based on the variation of magnetic field by means of a detachable pen attached to the portable device. To this end, upon detecting a variation of magnetic field due to attachment, detachment or rotation of the pen, which occurs on the basis of a change in the distance between the magnet installed in the pen, and a sensor mounted in the portable device, a control operation corresponding to the detected variation of the magnetic field is determined and a control operation is performed in the portable device. Execution of the control operation comprises a step of performing at least one of activating a particular application, executing a function provided in the application, and setting the mode for the application.
EFFECT: technical result is providing additional capabilities for controlling the device by means of a pen without having to remove said pen from a hole, which prevents loss.
