FIELD: textile and paper.

SUBSTANCE: reed of a knitting loom for producing articles of variable width contains upper, lower, side slips and a means of moving reed blades, while the reed is made of three parts: central part, fixed on a slay beam with rigidly fixed blades and two lateral parts, hingedly connected by upper and lower balks with a central part and being pivotally mounted in a vertical plane with respect to the central part while maintaining the parallelism of the blades of all parts of the reed; for which the blades of the lateral parts are kinematically connected with the balks, means for moving the lateral parts of the reed with the blades is arranged on the top of the slay top and is made, for example, in the form of screws hingedly fixed on the upper balks of the lateral parts of the reed; and in order to maintain the rigidity of the reed perpendicular to the slay blades on the upper balk of the central part, a fixing means is placed on both sides of the width of the reed, for example in the form of slats.

EFFECT: invention allows to expand the range of produced woven products due to the possibility of manufacturing products of various configurations of woven products while maintaining the basis density of its central part.
