SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a side step of a vehicle that is to be placed in the lower part of the vehicle body. Side step (15) includes plate-shaped step (21), vertical wall member (23) and recessed wall part (41). Plate-shaped step (21) is located at the lower part of the vehicle body and is configured to protrude from the side of the vehicle body. Vertical wall member (23) extends upwards from the end portion of step (21), the end portion being located on the side of the vehicle body, and the upper end portion of which is located near the lower end portion of the vehicle body frame member which is located in the lower part of the vehicle body and which extends in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle body. Recessed wall part (41) is located at the upper end portion of the vertical wall member (23) which is formed in a recessed shape so as to surround, on the lower side, the periphery of the lower end portion of the vehicle body frame member.

EFFECT: technical result: creating a side step of a vehicle which prevents the flow of muddy water to the step through the gap between the upper end portion of the vertical wall member and the vehicle body frame member.
