SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of engineering and automotive engineering and can be used to connect shafts transmitting torque at various, possibly varying angles. Hinge coupling includes centering ball (1), around which forks (2) move. Internal surfaces of forks (2) are designed in such a way that they allow forks (2) to slide over the surface of ball (1), the force in transferring the torque from one plug (2) is directly transferred to other plug (2), bypassing any intermediate link. Moreover, the design of plug (2) is such that it allows forks (2) to deviate from the common longitudinal axis, the contacting surfaces of forks (2) are then rolled against each other over the mating surfaces.
EFFECT: principal differences from most existing hinge couplings that transmit the torque force through the intermediate link (crosses of various designs, sprockets, balls, rollers, et cetera) – direct transfer of force from the plug to the plug, a significant increase in the "patch" of contact between the mating surfaces of the contacting forks in comparison with the hinge of the "Weiss" type, and, as a result, a more reliable and durable operation, compactness, simplicity and reliability of the structure in operation and maintenance.
