FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metalworking, in particular to the machine parts surfaces hardening methods by electromechanical processing under the mass and repair production conditions. Mild steel part electromechanical surface treatment method includes the graphite paste simultaneous delivery to the electrode-tool with the workpiece surface contact area, electrode tool mechanical action on the said part surface and its surface heating by the electric current passing through the electrode tool with the part contact area for the surface with carbon diffusion saturation in the contact zone. Graphite paste feeding is carried out through the fixed electrode-tool hole into the electrode-tool with the part surface contact area under the pressure of 2–3 MPa. Heating is carried out by the electric current of 800–1,000 A passing through the said contact area at an electrode-tool feed rate of 0.4–0.5 m/min along the workpiece surface.

EFFECT: enabling wear resistance, efficiency and the low-carbon steels parts electromechanical processing quality.
