SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an imaging device and a method for controlling it. In the method, the result is achieved in that the imaging device comprises: a non-contact communication section configured to perform a non-contact communication with an external device; and a control section configured to perform power-on control of the imaging device and establish a connection for wireless communication, where the control section controls the power-on of the imaging device after receiving the signal from the external device via non-contact communication, transmitting to the external device information for establishing a wireless connection with said external device after powering on the imaging device in question and control so as to perform a preparatory operation for capturing an image, when the transmission of the information for establishing a connection is completed.
EFFECT: this method’s technical result is to enable automatic power-on control in response to a signal received via a non-contact communication and to perform an operation for preparing to start shooting after completing transmission of information for establishing a wireless connection.
