FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an oil control piston ring which includes body (1) comprising working surface area (2) provided with ends (20, 21), inner peripheral surface (3), upper and lower lateral sides (4), as well as oil return bores / slots (12) extending between the ends and the inner peripheral surface, wherein: a) the base has a structural height (a) of 1.2-≤2.5 mm, b) the width (b) of the corresponding end is 0.10–0.35 mm in the area of an outer peripheral surface; c) envelope grooves (8, 9) provided with wear-resistant coating (10, 11, 18), are provided in the area of ends, d) each groove (8, 9) extends partially in the area of the respective end in such a way that an area of the upper and lower sides is formed a coating free section with a width (c) of 0.04–0.25 mm, e) the coating free section of the corresponding end in a transition zone to the corresponding side is rectangular and has sharp edge (22, 23), f) the depth (d) of the grooves provided in the area of ends is 0.005–0.10 mm; g) the height (e) of the corresponding end is 0.15–0.70 mm. Method for manufacturing the oil control piston ring is described.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the design and manufacturing process of the oil control piston ring.
