Process for treating formation damage in an underground formation, wherein the formation damage is caused by the following: an oil-based drill-in fluid filter cake, a water-based drill-in fluid filter cake, oilfield scales, asphaltene, paraffin, wax, pipe dope, emulsion or a water block, comprises: introducing into the underground formation a treatment fluid comprising water and at least one of a cyclodextrin or a starch and an enzyme capable of generating a cyclodextrin from the starch, and allowing the treatment fluid to remediate the formation damage. Use of cyclodextrin as a fluid component for treatment to eliminate formation damage in an underground formation in which formation property disruption is caused by the following: an oil-based drill-in fluid filter cake, a water-based drill-in fluid filter cake, oilfield scales, asphaltene, paraffin, wax, pipe dope, emulsion or a water block.
