SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metrology, in particular, to stands for assessing the quality of sound absorbers. Then, the sound power level is determined, the corrected sound power level, the magnitude of the sound pressure level reduction, the average sound absorption coefficient of the acoustically treated room, the value of the total incremental absorption are found. In the study of the ceiling, the sound absorber is removed from the side walls of the metal housing, and the effective part of the adjustable noise source is directed to the ceiling part of the housing and switched on, sequentially changing the sound volume and frequency of the signal. In the study of wall cladding, the sound absorber is removed from the ceiling, and the wall cladding is applied to the walls. Source of the noise is directed to the walls. Then from the microphone, signals are sent to a power amplifier, for example, a strain gauge, and from there signals are sent to an oscilloscope and oscillograms of sound pressure levels are recorded, which determine the effectiveness of the acoustic ceiling.
