FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates generally to liquid concentrators, more particularly to compact mobile inexpensive wastewater concentrators that can easily be connected to waste heat sources and used to concentrate the liquid. Method for concentrating wastewater comprises the following steps: a) combining the heated gas and the liquid wastewater stream under pressure; b) passing a combined flow of heated gas and a liquid effluent stream through the concentrator mixing channel to form a gas-liquid mixture having a liquid concentration of about 5 wt. % to about 20 wt. % of the total weight of the mixture, a mixing channel having a constricted portion in which the gas-liquid flow within the mixing channel is accelerated as it passes from the inlet to the outlet of the channel; c) separating a portion of the liquid from the gas-liquid mixture to produce a gas mixture with transferable liquid droplets; d) removing droplets of liquid carried by the gas mixture obtained in step c) to produce a concentrated liquid and a gas substantially free of liquid.
EFFECT: invention provides an inexpensive concentration of wastewater.
