FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural production, in particular to seed production. Method includes seed germination and coefficient counting. After the growth of plants at the stage of seed pouring in crops, developed plants are selected and the process of the natural formation of fruits is interrupted. Fruits of the plants are alienated from the mother plant, placed in a closed container and kept at temperature of +5 °C for 10–12 days, extract the seeds from the fruits, determine the number of seeds that have been poured and count the coefficient in terms of where is the total number of seeds in the fruits; is the total number of plant fruits. By the numerical value of the coefficient k, the yield properties of the seeds are evaluated. Higher the numerical value of the coefficient k, the higher the yield properties of the seeds.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the accuracy of determining the yield properties of seeds in pea and soybean crops at the stage of fruit formation.
