FIELD: veterinary science.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine and can be used to improve the reproductive function of sows, expressed in increasing the fecundity of sows and large-breeding offspring. For this, animals are managed under traditional conditions. In the diet of pregnant sows enter a biologically active substance (BAS), namely, lithium ascorbate in a dose of from 2 to 10 mg per 1 kg of body weight of animals.

EFFECT: method provides an improvement in the reproductive function of sows and large density of offspring as a result of increasing the stress resistance and non-specific resistance of animals, increasing of hemopoiesis for the period of suporosity in the absence of a negative effect on clotting and color parameters of the blood due to the realization of the sedative, adaptogenic, antioxidant properties of the injected BAS.
