FIELD: technological processes; fire safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of fire-retardant coatings based on polymer binder and can be used in rubber industry. Composition for fire retardant coatings includes, in parts by weight: chlorosulfonated polyethylene 15, toluene 85 and carbon fibers 1–3. As carbon fibers, the composition contains microcarbon fibers obtained from polyvinyl alcohol fiber, pretreated with neutralized ammonia with a 25 wt.% solution of methyl phosphite borate and pyrolyzed at 600 °C for 30 minutes.
EFFECT: invention increases the fire-protective properties of the coating.
