SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of protecting a virtual private network from DDoS-attacks. In the method, when detecting the fact of the start of a DdoS-attack on a node,predict the ability of the node to provide subscribers with the required number of communication services and the time of denial of service in communication services; compare the ability of a node to provide subscribers with the required number of communication services with a valid value if the node is able to provide subscribers with the required number of communication services, continue monitoring; compare the time of occurrence of a failure in the service of communication services with the required value of the time of provision of communication services; if the condition is not met, then according to a predetermined algorithm, the communication services of the subscribers are disabled based on their priority and importance of subscribers.

EFFECT: technical result is to ensure the provision of communication services to subscribers of a VPN node that has undergone a DDoS-attack, having a higher category of importance, by reducing the number of communication services provided to a group of subscribers having a lower category of importance.
