SUBSTANCE: invention relates to display device (5), comprising at least one display means (3), printed circuit board (6) having at least one electrical illuminant (7) which is contacted for the purpose of generating light from electrical energy on printed circuit board (6), at least one optical waveguide (8) having input coupling surface (9), output coupling surface (10) and light guiding section (11) designed for guiding light from illuminant (7) that enters via input coupling surface (9) to output coupling surface (10), which is optically coupled to display means (3), and holder (12) fixed to printed circuit board (6) and carrying said at least one optical waveguide (8). Invention additionally relates to home appliance (1) comprising such display device (5).
EFFECT: display device and home appliance with such a display device are provided.
