FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacture of a water-resistant low-density water-gel explosive for civilian purposes for use in mining and construction works. Manufacture is carried out in a continuous manner while simultaneously loading the blast holes in a device with mixing capability. Non-explosive or low-sensitivity matrix product (a) is mixed – an aqueous solution or suspension of an oxidizing salt with a water-soluble polymer, a crosslinking agent (b) for crosslinking the polymer contained in the matrix, the gas-producing substance (c). Resulting mixture is loaded directly in the blast hole by means of a pump or an auger. In this case, gas bubbles through the substance (c) are formed after the mixture is introduced into the blast hole. Chemical process of crosslinking is slower than the chemical process of the formation of bubbles. Process can be performed in trucks for loading explosives in blast holes having compartments for the different components of the mixture and one or several mixing devices, allowing the manufacture of the final mixture which would be unloaded into the blast holes either by means of a pump or an auger.
EFFECT: as a result, a low-density water-gel explosive is manufactured in a more economical and safe way.
