FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the processing of metals by pressure and can be used for the manufacture of hollow articles of spherical shape with a through channel, for example, ball valves and other movable joints of pipelines. Shaped pipe manufactured by continuous horizontal casting with a longitudinal thickening is cut into dimensional workpieces and processed from both ends for stamping, keeping the area with the thickening in the center of the workpiece. For forming a spherical surface, a stamp containing two semi-matrices is used. After forming, a spherical surface is machined and a non-through groove is made in the area with thickening.
EFFECT: invention can be used for the manufacture of hollow articles of spherical shape with a through channel.
