SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the pharmaceutical industry, namely to a composition for the treatment of opisthorchosis. Composition based on praziquantel for the treatment of opisthorchosis, including the complex of praziquantel and the sodium salt of the plant saponin – glycyrrhizinic acid with the mass ratios of the components of praziquantel: sodium salt of glycyrrhizinic acid, respectively, 1:5–20, obtained by joint mechanical activation of the mixture of the starting components.

EFFECT: above described composition can be used for the effective treatment of opisthorchosis at lower dosages of the active substance without toxic side effects, since it possesses enhanced anti-opisthorchid flukes action and reduced toxicity.
