SUBSTANCE: present group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to therapy, and concerns the treatment of hypertriglyceridemia. To this end, a pharmaceutical composition is administered containing at least 96 % by weight of all fatty acids of an eicosapentaenoic ester. Composition is administered orally at a dose of 4 g per day. Introduction of such a composition can effectively reduce the level of hypertriglyceridemia, including in subjects with an initial fasting level of 500–1500 mg/dL, as well as reduce the level of highly sensitive C-reactive protein.
EFFECT: this provides an effective treatment for cardiovascular diseases.
