FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: device for producing artificial snow comprises a series-connected means for supplying air under pressure, a Laval nozzle, a mixing chamber and a diffuser, a means for supplying water and liquid carbon dioxide, having an axial channel communicating all the nodes to one another. On the surface of the output cone of the Laval nozzle, a microwave camera with a microwave energy generator is installed to transmit radio waves of millimeter range, at a frequency of 65 GHz, with a power of 10 mW/cm2, and on the inner surface of the cone along the helix at an angle α to the generatrix perpendicular to the cone surface, (n) guide rods are fixed, the width of which is equal to half the input diameter of the large cone. Upper part of the large cone is communicated with the mixing chamber, and nozzles with a root angle are installed on its cover β. Angle (α) is 30–45°, angle β is 25–30°, n=2–4 – number of guiding turns. With the simultaneous action of microwave energy on chemical elements in the air and fine spraying of liquid carbon dioxide, the amount of finely dispersed centers of water crystallization increases, which intensifies the process of snow formation.

EFFECT: proposed equipment for obtaining artificial snow for air purification and creating an optimal microclimate in livestock and poultry houses, dust suppression in feed mills, factories, grain processing enterprises, for the formation of artificial snow cover of experimental and experimental sites in plant growing, protection of gardens and shrubs from frosts during their flowering period, is used in sanitary protection zones of enterprises that have sources of emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
