FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to a method of determining percentage of water in a dielectric-water mixture using different dielectrics, and can be used in measurement systems for continuous monitoring of parameters of a mixture. In the disclosed method, microwave oscillations are passed through a layer of a dielectric-water mixture, a frequency shift of the microwave signal is carried out in the controlled phase changer, wherein frequency-transformed microwave oscillations are supplied to one input of microwave mixer, to another input of which is supplied part of energy of initial microwave signal, then obtained at the output of microwave mixer low-frequency signal with frequency F is limited by amplitude and using a phase detector a signal is obtained, which is proportional to the phase transition of the microwave signal passed through the dielectric-water mixture. Use of low frequencies to measure phase difference enables to obtain high accuracy of measurements. To facilitate the signals homodyne frequency conversion one of the microwave signals is obtained by a monotonous phase shift of initial microwave signal with a certain speed.

EFFECT: disclosed method enables to analyse properties of the propagation medium of microwaves based on the results of measurements of the onset of phases of microwave oscillations, which increases accuracy of determining percentage content of water in the mixture with dielectrics.
