SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a surgical tampon consisting of two or more outer layers made of non-woven material and an inner layer of a textile polymer mesh, with a thread configured to detect X-rays, which can be obtained by knitting or weaving, or without it. Textile mesh can contain materials with high degree of elasticity, for example, elastane, or, alternatively, a combination of materials providing compression after heat treatment, for example polyamide, or polyamide and polyester, or even polyamide and cotton. Present invention also relates to a method for making this surgical tampon, which, after joining and depositing layers of nonwoven material and an inner layer of the textile polymer mesh, comprises ultrasonic welding of the layers.
EFFECT: surgical swab according to this document has improved characteristics when used, and the used manufacturing method is simple, economical and automated.
