FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to lead refining from bismuth. Method of refining is lead-calcium-ligature ligature and magnesium in boiler with zone heating under layer of flux. Method consists in simultaneous addition of components of 1/3 of calcium to 2/3 of magnesium. Process is carried out under a layer of molten flux formed by adding alkali and nitrate, taken in ratio of 1:1 at low temperatures of lead boiler 400–420 °C, and further refining operations occur due to exothermic reactions of oxidation of impurities and lead with bath temperature rise to 600–650 °C. At that, inweight ratio of lead-calcium and alkaline components is calculated so that half of the introduced alkaline components is consumed for binding impurities, and the second unreacted half is involved in formation of the flux layer.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention consists in significant reduction of energy and labor costs of the process due to reduction of the number of operations of cleaning lead rough lead to finishing.
