SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fur industry and can be used in finishing of sheepskin intended for shoe lining. Method of treating sheepskin hair coat comprises double application of plasticising composition based on ethyl or isopropyl alcohol and acetic acid with intermediate ironing and haircut and final ironing, wherein water emulsion of polydimethylsiloxane containing polydimethylsiloxane of molecular weight 5500−7500, polyoxyethylene glycol ethers of higher fatty alcohols and water in weight ratio of 8:1:6, respectively, is added to plasticizing composition. Plasticizing composition contains initial components in the following amount: monoatomic alcohol 100 ml/l, acetic acid 7.5 g/l, water emulsion of polydimethyl siloxane 30−40 g/l. Intermediate and final ironing of hair coat is performed at temperature 145−155 °C.

EFFECT: proposed method of sheepskin hair covering provides higher strength properties of hair coat and improved operational properties of sheepskin.
