FIELD: pyrotechnic device initiation systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a detonating cord which can be used for blasting operations in oil and gas, coal, mining and construction. Cord comprises core of granular powder explosive of brisant group, enclosed in several filament shells of different braiding and in protective layer of waterproof material with one or more longitudinal reinforcing threads inside first shell. First thread shell is made of several longitudinal flat polypropylene threads. Following two or three thread shells are made in the form of spiral winding with flat polypropylene threads in different directions for adjacent shells. One of thread shells is made with addition of yarn rope twisted. Detonating cord has stable running weight of explosive from 40 g/m to 170 g/m throughout the length depending on standard cord size, detonation speed up to 7 km/s and more, breaking strength up to 120 kgf and more, continuous cord length after manufacturing makes 120 m and more.

EFFECT: cord provides reliable transmission of initiating pulse for excitation of detonation and can be used as self-detonating charge at extraction of block stone, as an independent borehole or shaft charge, for direct initiation of industrial explosive charges of explosives in bore pits and shafts, initiation of overhead charges of explosive substances, as well as for laying mineralized strips to prevent the spread of fire.
