FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to digital engineering in the field of information exchange. Asynchronous serial interface of exchange (IE) is intended for information exchange between controller and terminal device. Information is exchanged with 32-bit words divided into bytes and supplemented with start and stop bits. Initiator of exchange is always a controller, which issues command word (CW) for terminal device (TD). CW transmits an operation code (OC), an address of the TD and a number of words for exchange. After CW receiving, TD compares the address in the CW with its own address, after which executes it (the address coincides) or ignores it (the foreign address). If the OC contains the receiving operation, the TD receives the number of data words (DW) specified in the CW, if the dispensing operation, the TD issues the specified number of the DW.

EFFECT: creation of reliable asynchronous interface and controller and TD required for its operation, which will provide for exchange of 32-bit words with high speed of information transfer with minimum quantity of signals between devices.
