SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to hydroponic methods of growing wood plants, and can be used for cultivation of sweet cherry in sheltered soil. Method involves planting sweet cherry planting material in containers with an inert substrate and subsequent cultivation of plants, including irradiation of sweet cherry during vegetation with optical radiation in the visible spectrum. Sweet cherry is additionally irradiated in the rest phase with radiation in the visible spectrum and in the near infrared range, and irradiation in the near infrared range is carried out at least in phases of sap flow and swelling of the kidneys. Sweet cherry cultivation is carried out in conditions of light culture, or in conditions of natural light cycle, or under conditions of illumination. Planting material is represented by sweet cherry saplings. In the visible spectrum and in the near infrared range, the exposure can be daily. Irradiation in the visible range of the spectrum and in the near infrared range from the phase of sap flow to the phase of active growth is carried out, daily increasing the exposure time, and from the phase of buds filling to the phase of fall leaves, reducing the exposure time on a daily basis. Irradiation in the near infrared range is carried out at wave length 0.74–2.5 mcm.

EFFECT: method provides higher efficiency of cherry cultivation and yield increase.
