FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for protection of metal in intermediate ladle and in casting machine continuous casting of wide range of steel. Slag-forming mixture for continuous casting contains following components, wt%: carbon-containing material 4–6; fluorine-containing material 9–11; material based on silicon oxides 6–9; sodium carbonate 1–3; calcium carbonate 21–25; silicate material in form of wollastonite and nepheline concentrate – the rest.
EFFECT: technical result when using disclosed slag-forming mixture for continuous casting of steel consists in improvement of its assimilating ability in relation to nonmetallic inclusions – aluminates, improvement of surface quality of continuously cast workpiece and improvement of technological properties of slag-forming mix.
