SUBSTANCE: invention refers to biotechnology, microbiology. Disclosed is a strain of bacteria Psychrobacter cryohalolentis ARC 36, capable of decomposition of oil and oil products. Strain of bacteria Psychrobacter cryohalolentis is deposited in the Russian National Collection of Industrial Microorganisms under registration number VKPM V-13082 and can be used for cleaning of water areas of water bodies, shoreline contaminated with oil and oil products, at temperature from +20 to -2.5 °C and salinity 30±10 g/l in nutrient-poor conditions.
EFFECT: invention increases degree of cleaning water areas and shoreline water from contamination with oil and oil products.
