SUBSTANCE: in heat exchanger (1) with first section (3), which is flowing first medium, and second section (5), which is flowing second medium, wherein during operation heat exchange occurs between first and second medium, wherein first section (3) has inlet chamber (7) and first pipes (9) and outlet chamber (13) connected to inlet chamber and second tubes (15) connected to outlet chamber (13), wherein first pipes (9) respectively on ends (9a) facing from inlet chamber (7) are closed, and wherein each second pipe (15) is at least partially located inside one of first pipes (9), and end (15a) of each second pipe (15) facing away from outlet chamber (13) is open to inner space of corresponding first pipe (9), wherein second section (5) has inlet device (19) and outlet device (21), wherein inlet device (19) terminating in heat exchanger chamber (27), and heat exchanger chamber (27) at least partially surround first pipes (9) of first portion (3), and wherein heat exchanger chamber (27) is connected to outlet device (21), it is provided that inlet device (19) has shutoff device (41) for blocking fluid medium flow to second chamber (27) of heat exchanger, and that inlet device (19) and outlet device (21) connects bypass device (37) for at least partial direction of fluid medium flow of second medium past heat exchanger chamber (27), wherein shutoff device (41) in flow direction of second medium is located behind bypass device (37).
