SUBSTANCE: invention relates to livestock sector, in particular to a method for prediction of quality of boar semen. Method involves determining biochemical parameters in blood serum, spermic plasma, concentration of spermatozoa and fertilising capacity of the sperm. Blood serum and sperm plasma are analyzed for activity of acid phosphatase, in native sperm concentration of spermatozoons and calculated boar male sperm quality index (BMSQ) by formula:

where BMSQ is a boar male sperm quality index, conditions. units; Cspermatozoa - concentration of spermatozoa in 1 ejaculate, mln/ml; CFspermatic cells - acidic phosphatase activity in spermatic plasma, E / l; CFprost activity of prostatic acid phosphatase, E / l. If the BMSQ value is 147.4–173.3 standard units, the fertilizing capacity of sperm is 89.5–91.4 %, and if the BMSQ value is 859.7–1286.9 standard units, the fertilizing capacity is equal to 80.7–83.9 %.

EFFECT: use of the invention enables predicting fertilizing capacity of male boar-producers.
