METHOD OF COOLING MEDIUM IN OUTBOARD EQUIPMENT AND SHIPBOARD COOLER Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC F28D7/10 B63J2/12

Abstract RU 2703597 C1

FIELD: shipbuilding.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to shipboard systems, in particular to marine outboard equipment, and can be used on habitable deep water vehicles. Method of cooling medium in overboard equipment includes supply of cooled medium into inter-tube space of heat exchange unit and forced supply of cooling medium (outboard water) through pipes of heat exchange unit. Outflow water coming from the pipes is directed to the inlet of the desalination unit, in which it is desalinated on membrane desalination elements, then the brine is dropped over the board, and desalinated water is used. Cooling is performed mainly at outboard pressure of not less than osmotic pressure of sea water. Ship outboard cooler is made in the form of a multifunctional module, in which a desalting unit is arranged coaxially to a heat exchange unit. Desalination block housing is docked by its ends to the covers, also in the cavity of the desalting unit housing there is at least one membrane desalination element with a central collector connected to the desalinated water discharge nozzle. On the section of the desalting unit housing within the cover cavity without the branch pipes there are through holes with the condition that the total flow section of the holes is not less than the flow passage cross-section of the inlet of outboard water.

EFFECT: use of the declared group of inventions provides higher efficiency of the outboard equipment operation due to expansion of its functional capabilities, use of off-shore pressure as an energy source, utilization of waste heat and neutralization of "thermal trace" left by the outboard cooler, and damping of vibration.
