FIELD: rail vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrification of railways, in particular to contact network sectioning devices. Sectional insulator includes insulating elements, housings, suspensions, connecting clamps, arc suppressing horns and slides. Said housings have process cutout to accommodate contact wire when sectional insulator is fitted on solid contact wire. Height of process cutout is not less than diameter of contact wire.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability of sectional insulator.
