SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a jet recording device and a jet recording method. Jet recording device has an ink ejection unit configured to perform ink ejection. At that, the ink discharge unit includes a jet head with nozzle diameter of 17 mcm or more, but 19 mcm or less. Jet head includes a nozzle plate and a repellent ink layer located on the surface of this nozzle plate. Ink jet recording device contains ink with an aqueous dye containing a water-soluble dye and having viscosity of 5 MPa⋅s or more, but 12 MPa⋅s or less at 25 °C.
EFFECT: providing stable ejection of small droplets and recording an image with high resolution without granularity without using several inks (dark and light ink), having identical color, but mutually different concentrations of the dye.
