FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to peel-resistant protective labels or suitable protective films made from poly(meth)acrylate, more specifically from polymethyl methacrylate, which are characterized by thickness of 15 to 120 mcm, elongation at break of 2.0 to 15 %, determined by ASTM D1004, contain at least 55 wt. % polymethacrylate, which consists of 80–100 wt. % methyl methacrylate and 0–20 wt% styrene and/or other (meth) acrylates with an alkyl radical containing 1–4 carbon atoms, where weight-average molecular weight of polymethacrylate ranges from 80,000 to 300,000 g/mol, wherein polymethacrylate film contains not more than 10 wt. % modifying additives which increase impact strength, or does not contain them. Described also is use of protective films for producing chip cards, documents, protective labels, labels or price tags.
EFFECT: technical result is providing highly translucent films with good printing properties with possibility of application without any expected points of rupture and also characterized by good weather resistance and, in particular, especially good resistance to UV radiation.
