SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine and is a method for protecting dogs from flea infestations involving external treatment of animal body parts with an insectoacaricide agent, characterized by that in order to increase the effectiveness of the method, the insectoacaricide agent used is a composition containing active substances abamectin and fipronil, ethyl cellosolve and polyethylene glycol as dissolvent, hexamidine diisetionate as auxiliary substances – 0.05 g, eucalyptus essential oil – 3 % and additionally as an agent promoting penetration of drugs under the skin, dimethylsulphoxide at the following ratio of components, wt%: abamectin – 0.1, fipronyl – 0.5, hexamidine diisetionate – 0.05, essential oil of eucalyptus – 3, dimethylsulphoxide –- 10, ethyl cellosolve – 30–40, polyethylene glycol-1500 – 16, isopropyl alcohol – balance up to 100, wherein composition is applied by method of local application on areas of body – area withers, dewlap, shoulders, hips and abdomen – in dose 0.03 ml/kg per animal.

EFFECT: method provides higher effectiveness of dogs protection against flea invasions.
