SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to vehicle illumination systems. Upper lighting unit for a vehicle comprises a light generating unit configured to be fitted in the ceiling lining recess. Light generating assembly comprises a plurality of light sources and a photoluminescent structure. Photoluminescent structure is configured to luminesce in response to excitation by a plurality of light sources. Sections of photoluminescent structure located above landing zones of occupants occupy high degree of luminescence than sections of photoluminescent structure located above landing zones without occupants.
EFFECT: higher quality of vehicle lighting.
