FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to estimate the degree of inhomogeneity of surface layers of non-magnetic metals arising during hardening, tempering and action of liquid or gaseous aggressive media. Essence of the invention lies in the fact that the device for determining the degree of inhomogeneity of the electrical conductivity of non-magnetic metals by the eddy current method, containing the harmonic oscillation generator, output of which is connected to two in series according to connected exciting coils of identical working and compensation transducers, their measuring coils are connected in series in reverse and connected to amplifier, output of which is connected to phase detector and radius of exciting coil is selected from condition 1.5ZB⪅RB⪅2ZB, where ZB is an approximate depth of the layer within which the structural state changes occur, memory and control unit is introduced, which input is connected to amplifier, one of outputs to the first subtraction unit, the second input of subtraction unit is connected to amplifier, and output with one of inputs of normalizing unit, the second output of memory and control unit is connected to phase detector, to which phase regulator connected to generator is connected, output is connected to comparator and frequency control unit, connected also to setter, output is connected to generator, frequency of which is maintained equal to frequency of maximum sensitivity to electric conductivity of control object, second input of normalization unit is connected to measuring coil of compensation converter, and output to indication unit, where there is quantitative determination of degree of inhomogeneity.
EFFECT: possibility of quantitative determination of the degree of inhomogeneity of electric conductivity.
