FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method of measuring gas mass during operation of low-thrust rocket engine in mode of single inclusions, in pulse modes and device for its implementation. Method and device for measuring mass of gases (hydrogen H2 and oxygen O2) during fire tests of low-thrust rocket engines at operation in mode of single inclusions and in pulse modes. Device consists of at least one working and reference containers, electrically driven air valves, pressure difference transducer, pressure and temperature sensors, wherein it includes at least two containers with working body - reference and at least one working, each of which is isolated from common pneumohydraulic system by means of electric pneumatic valves. After single switching or pulse mode under conditions of parameters stabilization in tanks pressure difference is measured between at least one working and reference containers, then mass of gas is determined by ratio Δm = (μVΔp)/(RT), where μ is molar mass of gas, V is volume of at least one working container, Δp is pressure drop between at least one working and reference vessels, R is universal gas constant, T is temperature of working medium.
EFFECT: invention increases accuracy of determining parameters in mode of single inclusions and in pulse modes of operation of low-thrust rocket engine.
