FIELD: methods and devices for metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of lap welded joints of elements of different thickness, one of which is made by thin-wall rolling, operating under conditions of repeated static or cyclic loads, and can be used, for example, for inspection of welded joints of structural elements of combustion chambers of gas turbine engines used in gas compressor stations. Measurement is made at section of transition from weld metal to base metal of thin-walled element at depth t, which is less than or equal to value of zone of thermal influence, sizes of actual grains in directions of rolled stock d2 and d1 perpendicular to it. Their ratio is determined, according to which parameters of safe operation of the welded joint are selected in interval 1 ≤ d2/d1 < 4.
EFFECT: invention allows improving control accuracy of welded joints of elements of different thickness that influences increase of their reliability and durability during operation.
