METHOD OF TARGET TRACKING USING SPECIAL MISSILE Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC F41G3/00

Abstract RU 2715466 C1

FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to combat use of artillery and can be used to deliver UAV to target area and to correct firing of reactive artillery from closed firing positions. In order to target the target, a video camera with a GPS/GLONASS system is delivered to the location of the target object, information on the location of the target object is transmitted and adjusted by one smoke projectile (3) with subsequent transition to firing for damage. At the same time delivery of the video camera unit with GPS/GLONASS system to the location area of the object is carried out by means of jet projectile (1) with subsequent emission of the video camera unit with the GPS/GLONASS system at the specified height, reduction and stabilization using parachute system (2). Also disclosed is a missile for target tracking with a remote fuse, a head part with a payload, a solid-propellant rocket engine and a stabilizer unit. In the head part of the jet projectile there is a video camera unit with a GPS/GLONASS system and a parachute system.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of reconnaissance of targets and maintenance of firing of multiple artillery systems and other artillery systems owing to shorter time for delivery of a video camera with a function of transmitting optical-electronic load information in real time to a command and observation station (COS) and a fire control point of a battalion (FCPB), increasing autonomy and independence of functioning of reconnaissance-fire complex (RFC) on the basis of MLRS and other artillery systems without using other support units, as well as reducing risks associated with detection and defeat of UAV.
