SUBSTANCE: object of the present invention is to provide a catalyst which ensures that, in case of gas-phase catalytic oxidation of unsaturated aldehyde with an oxygen-containing gas using said catalyst to obtain a corresponding unsaturated carboxylic acid, pressure drop can remain low and unsaturated carboxylic acid can be obtained with high selectivity. Described is a ring-type or columnar catalyst used during gas-phase catalytic oxidation of unsaturated aldehyde with an oxygen-containing gas to obtain an unsaturated carboxylic acid, in which the outer peripheral edge is inclined relative to the central line at angle of 45 to 85°, the ratio (a/b) of the outer diameter a (mm) to the diameter b of the lower part (mm) is from 2.35 to 3.5, the ratio (N/b) length H (mm) of body direct part to diameter b of lower part (mm) is from 1.35 or more to 2.5 or less, length H (mm) of the straight section of the body ranges from 2 to 11 mm, and the size of the outer diameter, and (mm) ranges from 2 to 7 mm, and where the diameter of the lower part is the diameter of the lower part, where the incline ends.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of catalyst for gas-phase catalytic oxidation of unsaturated aldehyde with oxygen-containing gas to obtain corresponding unsaturated carboxylic acid with high selectivity and high conversion value of unsaturated aldehyde.
