FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-voltage instrumentation, specifically to design of arc-quenching chamber of high-voltage switch. Switch comprises a fixed contact system and a movable contact system in the form of movable contact knives with movable arc extinguishing contacts. Arc path after opening of arc-extinguishing contacts is prolonged by that arc is directed into gap between arc-extinguishing contacts on saw-tooth surface of insulating heat-resistant material with saw-tooth surface.
EFFECT: technical result is increase in switching resource.
