SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electric engineering and power electronics, in particular to static cascade electric frequency converters and can be used in high-voltage frequency-controlled high-power AC drives with high quality of synthesized voltage. Like the prototype, the converter comprises single-phase frequency converters grouped by level cells and cascade frequency converter phases. In contrast to the prototype, the device is additionally equipped with automatic level switches and independent matching voltage transformers, each of which supplies single-phase frequency converters of its level.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of energy efficiency and efficiency, simplified design of power matching multi-winding transformer, improved operational characteristics, increased quality of synthesized voltage, etc.
