FIELD: imaging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of creating images inside of diamonds bearing information for various purposes, for example identification code, labels identifying diamonds. Said technical result is achieved in a method of creating an optically permeable image inside a diamond, in which an image is formed below the surface of the diamond, consisting of a given set of optically permeable elements of micron or submicron size, which are violations in periodicity of the crystalline structure of the diamond, wherein an image is formed, which is a mark consisting of a given set of optically permeable elements of micron or submicron size, which are violations in periodicity of the crystalline structure of diamond with participation of chemical elements of impurities formed on vacancies and internodes in volume of micron or submicron size. Formation of irregularities in the periodicity of the diamond crystal structure is carried out by means of diamond processing by optical radiation focused in the focal region located in the area of the alleged arrangement of the irregularities in the periodicity of the diamond crystal structure, with supply of ultra-short radiation pulses, providing formation of a given set of optically permeable elements of micron or submicron size, made on vacancies and internodes, in said focal area, and providing integral fluence in said focal area below threshold fluence, at which local conversion of diamond into graphite or other non-diamond form of carbon occurs or formation of cracks and splits in the crystal.
EFFECT: high accuracy of creating an optically permeable image inside a diamond and detecting it.
