SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for masking errors in audio encoding/decoding. Loss of the target audio packet to be decoded is detected based on the reception state of the target audio packet. Loss of another audio packet to be decoded is detected based on the receiving state of said other audio packet, wherein the other audio packet is transmitted to the audio decoding device immediately after said target audio packet. In response to correct reception of target audio packet based on absence of loss detection of target audio packet, perform decoding by the audio decoding device; collecting by audio decoding device the side information generated by decoding side information code included in target audio packet. Side information is related to the forecast signal relative to the specified other audio packet.

EFFECT: technical result is to restore sound quality without increasing the algorithmic delay, when there is a packet loss when encoding audio.
