FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used in production of steel electric-welded pipes by heating with high-frequency currents. During the process control, amount of heat required for welding of edges of steel rolled stock is controlled. Video images of the region of convergence of edges in the form of a symbol V, which come into contact with each other at a point of physical convergence (V1). Area of formation of jumpers is selected on input images to define narrow area containing welding gap between point (V1) and welding point (W). Frequency of formation of jumpers and type of welding determined by amount of introduced heat depending on frequency of formation of jumpers is determined. After comparing obtained values with corresponding default values, additionally determining time intervals between formation of jumpers, then for period of time t determining total number of jumpers N, number of jumpers n1, which occurred with time interval exceeding the upper permissible limit, and number of jumpers n2, which occurred with time interval less than lower allowable limit. Weld heating of edges is corrected taking into account obtained data.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing high and stable values of impact strength of pipe welded joint.
